The latest CMax from Ford has been restyled to bring it right up to date with as a modern streamlined family multi-activity vehicle with great space and Ford’s fantastic engine range.

Exceptionally quiet on the road, lots of head and legroom.
A Focus, but more height! Choices are the CMax as a 5 seater, or Grand CMax as a 7-seater.

Engine choices start with Ford’s 1.5 105ps petrol, or the 125ps version with more punch, up to the 1.6 150ps ecoboost. They all average around 42.8mpg on a combined fuel cycle.

The diesels include the much loved 1.6 TDCi 115ps at just 119 g/kmco2 and averaging around 61mpg on a combined cycle plus the 2.0 TDCI140ps which you can also get in SMax and Mondeo. That returns around 55mpg on a combined cycle.
Ford’s new Powershift transmission option makes lovers of automatics also big customers for the CMax.

Torque, especially on the diesels, makes motorway driving a joy, whilst the CMax is easy to enjoy as a town car too as its size is proportioned brilliantly to maximise internal space but at the same time easy to use as the family larger-than-average hatch (rear boot space is 550L max with all seats up and including up to rooflining height, this expands to 1620L with all seats flat)

Build is solid, finish on the interior is right up to date with a softer dash texture and top quality seat fabrics designed for hard family wear. A 5 star Euro NCAP rating makes this a great safe family choice too. Enjoying ESP (electronic stability programme)..and the Grand CMax also gets Traction Control.

The Grand CMax is a brilliant use of the CMax chassis to get a compact 7 seater mpv, The wheelbase is 14cm longer (4.52m) than the 5 seater CMax and the body almost 6cm higher.
Sliding rear passenger doors and power tailgate make this a real family winner.

While the rear 2 seats are for children, the centre 3 seats easily seat 3 adults.

In the Grand the bootspace hits a total of 1723L with all seats flat.

Flexible space with the middle seats sliding forwards, and rows 2 and 3 fold flat simply and smoothly The 3 middle row seats split 40/20/40). Cleverly, the centre seat in the middle row folds underneath the right-hand passenger seat - enabling easy access to the rear seats.

The stiffer suspension and torque system makes this a wonderfully solid car to drive, a test drive usually results in a sale...a joy to any Ford dealer’s heart.
